Final Act Logo and Visual Identity Design
January 2026
project overview
The objective was to design and implement a logo and visual identity system for a fictional event. To understand and demonstrate the research and creative process of developing a logo and complex information system.

The visual identity for Final Act, a horror franchise film festival, is designed to capture the essence of the slasher genre while positioning the event as campy, yet grungy. Rather than leaning into overt gore, the identity draws from the genre’s most recognizable symbols and reinterprets them through a more modern lens, while still paying homage to 90s and 80s media and the genre's kitsch.
logo creation
A matrix was used to aid in the logo creation process, combining visual symbols and themes of the conference on two different axes. Intersections between the two would create new logo ideas, from which the most promising ones were further refined. The final logo ended up being a combination of the mask and door symbols, with a distressed feel to it through roughened.
